Supporting Children and Young People with Development Language Disorder (DLD)

In this unit, we look at a range of barriers to learning associated with developmental language disorder (DLD), what we mean by the term and ways in which to support pupils with DLD.

Aims and outcomes

  • Identify some of the needs associated with DLD.
  • Outline the reasons for the importance of addressing DLD.
  • Begin to develop a range of strategies to support pupils with DLD.
