Supporting Children and Young People with ADHD
This unit is intended to raise your awareness of what ADHD is and how you might recognise it in the behaviour of some of your pupils. Principally, it is about ways of supporting the learning of pupils with a diagnosis of ADHD.
It is not your role to diagnose ADHD. If you have concerns about the behaviour of a pupil, you should address those concerns by following the policy and procedures in your setting.
Aims and outcomes
- Describe some of the characteristics of ADHD.
- Identify ways in which ADHD can affect pupils’ learning.
- Develop strategies to support pupils with ADHD.
