This unit focuses on your role as a class teacher, form tutor, subject teacher or teaching assistant in promoting good mental health in the children and young people you work with. 

It will help you recognise when individuals might be experiencing – or be at risk of experiencing – mental health problems so that you can take appropriate action to help them get the support they need.

Aims and outcomes 

• Recognise mental health issues that may affect the pupils you work with.
• Locate relevant resources to use when teaching pupils about mental health.
• Develop your knowledge of mental health issues and ways in which you can support pupils.
