Off-site Activities

This training courses deals with the key areas to consider when planning any trip off-site, including planning for residential activities and travelling abroad.

Aims and outcomes

  • Know the importance of pre-planning when taking pupils off-site.
  • Understand the need for good parental liaison and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Learn why health and safety requirements vary according to the nature of the site, the activity and individual requirements of the pupils.
  • Recognise the role of insurance in pre-planning.
  • Know the requirement for adequate supervision in varying situations.
  • Understand the importance of planning for the unexpected.
